Christian Eisenberger

Cola Bier Ente Herr Tee 9975–15413–32682

16.10. – 31.12.2020

The title, that is phonetically read as Kollabierende Herde (Collapsing Herd), reveals the Austrian artist’s subtle humour, which always accompanies his works. For his first institutional solo-exhibition in Germany, Christian Eisenberger will develop artworks that focus on and reinterpret Land Art. Eisenberger brings flora and fauna into the exhibition space, dissolving the static separation between inside and outside, between saleable art and the ephemeral. He creates paintings that combine the authorship of man and animal from the finest cobwebs, gently laying them over either a black or white back-ground. The new documentary film Eisenberger. Art must be beautiful, says the frog to the fly will be shown during the exhibition.

Christian Eisenberger (*1978 in Semriach, Austria, lives in Vienna) studied transmedial art with Brigitte Kowanz at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna.
In addition to numerous solo and group gallery exhibitions, Christian Eisenbergers work has been shown in many institutional exhibitions such as at the Kunsthalle Krems, Künstlerhaus Wien, Tinguely Museum (Basel), mumok Wien, Kunsthalle Wien and Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden.
