FORT
Undercover
07.12.2019 – 16.02.2020
Kunsthalle in cooperation with the Cultural Foundation of Hesse
The artist duo FORT transfers everyday objects into the context of contemporary art. Through subtle interventions, Jenny Kropp and Alberta Niemann alienate the supposedly familiar, allowing it to tip over into the unfamiliar. They negotiate aspects of the hidden and the absent in their large-scale works, some of which were created especially for this exhibition. This is the first time that an exhibition at the Kunsthalle has been specifically dedicated to scholarship holders of the Cultural Foundation of Hesse that supported FORT with a studio grant in New York City.
Jenny Kropp (* 1978, Frankfurt am Main) and Alberta Niemann (* 1982, Bremen) live and work in Berlin. Since 2008 they have worked together as the artist duo FORT.
